Hello everyone I am currently at a road block with one of our 2500b units. It is a 2011 Diesel 2500b John deere that we have set up for mowing our Step cut. The issue that I am having with this unit is Hydraulic related I am pretty sure. So yesterday the unit went out to mow all 18 holes and did just fine, this morning they wanted to go back out and mow them again so they weren't as shaggy, but right off the bat the machine with the PTO engaged wouldn't move any faster than max of 1 mph especially if you got to a hill it didn't even want to climb it. With the PTO disengaged it moves like it should doesn't struggle at all. Had him bring the machine back to the shop to check over all the linkage, and seems like everything is moving freely nothing is binding up. I then decided to change the Hydraulic oil even though it had just been changed 200hrs prior but didn't have a clean container to re-use the current oil. I also removed the suction strainer and cleaned it, expecting maybe that was going to be dirty but upon removal only a few little debris pieces were on it. I then took it back out to go and mow to test it and is still doing the same thing. Do I need to get a pressure gauge kit from john deere to test the hydraulic pump or can it be something else before I have to go and drop a good amount of money on the pump test kit?

Thank you in advance for the help

Hmm . Was working fine prior to hydro filter change . Screen went in the right way . I once did that to a pro gator till it was pointed out by a fello on line tech . Wouldn't steer . Not sure if they can be installed the wrong way on those but might be worth looking into if it only happened after hydro changes

The Problem was occurring before the Hydraulic Change, we don't have a clean storage for used oil that hasn't been used it's whole life so I had to just dump that oil and put new in. That suction Filter only goes in the one way too sadly.

Is it a three wheel drive? The rear wheel motor kicks in when the pto is engaged and all the fluid is running through the rear wheel motor. Try disconnecting the wires to the rear wheel solenoid and try mowing with it.
