Anyone have any feedback on how Celebration performs as a Fairway, Tee and Rough grass? By rough I mean about 1.5 inch tall?

Typical South Texas Climate is hot, humid, poor water quality (bicarbs extremely high), heavy clay soils that are hard to flush, 25-40 inches of rain a year. Soil and water PH 8.5 +

Any comments or experiences will be helpful. Thanks guys.

We have it on our D.R. tee and a couple other tee's. GROWS LIKE CRAZY!! Even on our D.R. tee with divots being taken out daily and back-filled with sand we still cant keep up with the thatch. Therefore, it scalps frequently unless you keep Primo on it regularly, and even with Primo it scalps. One of our tee's has some shade and it does not perform as I would have hoped. All-in-all good looking color just be prepared to verticut, topdress and core aerify all the time. We are maintaining it between .375" and .400".

What are you doing fertilizer wise on the Celebration? From what I have been told, is to fertilize in the spring, and then let it go with only small amounts of supplemental if needed.

Probably not interested in cold hardiness. I have a small test area consisting of a few tees. Slow to get going in the spring and early summer, we fertilize lightly because in August have trouble keeping it under control with high rates of primo...some stretches have to mow every day even with heavy regulation (as much as 22 oz/A primo every 2-3 weeks) and still can scalp.

This year we applied 1.25#N Poly coated. 100% slow release at the end of April. That rate does excellent on our 419 but I may back it down next spring.
