thinking about spraying some winter weed herbicides with the finer mist nozzles (Tee jet 8002e flat fan) instead of the other set on my sprayer which is a much larger droplet size and much higher output. Is it more effective to spray with a finer mist for better leaf contact? or does it really make much of a difference. Also do I run the risk of clogging up the finer mist nozzles?

Set up your boom with the multiple nozzle receivers. gives you three options for spray volume and pattern. This will save you time and money over time. Spraying Simizene every where but greens. Get your resume up to date.

You don't need to worry about leaf contact with Simazine, Poa takes it up through the roots. Since it is a pre-emergent you actually want more water carrier to help get it down to the soil. I only spray it at .68gal H20/m because my travel speed is 8mph. But I water it in as recommended on the label.

Never used it after I saw results of what others tried. The levee bank next the the course I belong to now was treated with Simizene three to four years ago and to date nothing has grown on it. He has also not planted that field since. Not sure if that had any thing to do with it.

Can't imagine it sticking around near that long.
