Where masturbation and ovulation are apparently considered attempted murder now. Congrats.

    Go, Catholics!

So, to review: O.K. for men to get vasectomies, but immoral fireable offense for women to get invitro fertilization.

    Go figure.
And you wonder why people have a problem with organized religion.

I am not an atheist, but I seem to be having a problem with organized religion.

More winning logic backed up by religious dogma. Same crazy, different time zone.

I am normally entertained by your posts, but this has to be bull excrement.

Steve, Is this actually true? Have you checked it out? This seems to be way too outrageous to be believable.

A friend posted it as a question in IRC to an Egyptian fellow we know. We were waiting for his response as to whether it had any validity or not. We're hoping not. Beyond that, I haven't read up on Islamic (or Catholic) "laws" to know whether or not this is just more religious extremism gone awry.

If it's true, I agree, it's unbelievably offensive - too offensive to be supported by anyone except the very far right conservative muslims.
Extremism in anything is useless and bad.
Stand in the middle of the boat. It's best there.

Now in North Carolina: same-sex civil unions? Unconstitutional.

Marrying your opposite-sex first cousin? Perfectly fine. No joke.

Upside: there's a higher chance for sterility with cousin on cousin offspring -- they'll eventually weed themselves out of the gene pool.
