Salsco rollers Cancel The title field is required!

   We have four Salsco rollers model # 09065-N with 13hp Honda engines.
   During operation a vapor lock forms in the gas tank which will cause the unit run out of gas and stall. Operator removes gas cap and replaces and he's on his way again for maybe one complete green. These models have new Honda engines and caps designed to reduce vapors. We've tried other gas caps with limited success.
   Wondering if anyone else is having the same problem as we are. If so what was/is your solution?

   I had this same exact problem and the fix was to replace the gas cap with an old style gas cap. If you can find some of the older gas caps, I just happened to acquire one through a friend. With the old style gas cap have not had that problem again. One other thing you can try is to only half fill the gas tank before going out but then the operator needs to carry fuel can with him. Also if they slow down just a little before changing directions it will help with the fuel sloshing around in the tank getting the seal wet and therefore causing the vapor lock.

   Steve, Frank is correct, Honda has had a known history with the newer style caps not venting properly. I had a former employer and friend call me up about a year ago. He told me his issues and swore the operator was nuts, because he'd done everything to this unit and it ran great the entire time he would run it, then he would get the call. I told him try a new cap and he called a week later and said I can't believe that took care of it. Also we have some new Salsco rollers and have had a similar issue, and its the oil sensor. When changing direction it will do the same thing, stumble likes its running out of gas, and sometimes stall completely out. We run them a little over full with oil and this has stopped our issues. Seems these sensors are very sensitive with these units. Hope this is of some help to you.
