I'm registered in Connecticut and vote by absentee ballot. In 2018 I can vote for governor, senator, and congressman.
That's what I thought, although I didn't know it was Connecticut. So, to be fair, I think you would need to vote Republican in 2020. Your Republican vote would probably double the amount in Connecticut, which wouldn't make a difference, and my Democrat vote in California wouldn't change anything either.
