I am looking for information on changing front rollers on our walk mowers. I am looking for a grooved roller that may weigh less than the stock roller on the 220E. I am on bent grass in the transition zone and have several greens in areas that do not have good air flow and some drainage issues. So what I am looking for is different things people have done with these 220E walkers to help relieve stress on their weaker greens.

    Thanks,
    Charlie B.

Martin at Golfo Intl is a pretty knowledgeable and creative fella, you might give him a call and see what he's done. He's helped me on a couple challenges, successfully.

What I have done both in PA and here in SC is switch between the groove and solids. The solids are just as heavy but do a great job of keeping a smooth putting surface while relieving stress from the groove rollers. We will also go up with the HOC's and can still keep our speeds while maintaining healthy greens. When we reach active growing conditions we go back to the groove and start lowering our HOC's.
