Overall not bad machines, just make sure that every electrical connection is dielectric greased. May have an occasional actuator go bad, they had an issue with the "Mr. Steer" a few years ago but have resolved that. They do put out a good playability product.

Are you talking about wheel hubs?

Biggest issue we have had is the traction control unit goes out. Lucky it was under warranty at the time. We currently have four 322 and 2 traction control unit have needed to be replaced. Overall... It's not a bad mower.

Yes the wheel hubs. I'm am replacing both hubs and axles. I put a new hub on and felt slack in the splines. I got the new axles and hubs in today and one axle doesn't fit very tight. Will be contacting a tech this week.

We have had one since 2010, we put in 15 blade reels after year one and it creates a glass surface.
The issue is the price tag on parts. We have had two lift actuators go bad, a steering motor go bad and three reels motors go bad. I was originally sold on the unit based on the sales pitch that the overall cost of ownership is low because you elimited oil changes and reduce fuel use..... After you order your first reel motor that theory is long gone. $1000 plus for one and the old one can not be rebuilt. I'll stick to conventional hydraulic systems that can be rebuilt for under $100.

    Hello Doug
over here in the UK i have 2 eclipses, a warranty issue regarding the wheel hubs was mentioned to me by our dealer, they changed one over and now recommend checking them every 250-300 hours if I remember correctly. speak to them they should sort it out
    cheers
    Baz

I have a 2012 and haven't had any issues with the hubs but another local course has been replacing hubs ever since they opened after their remodel. The new part of the course is rough as a cob and despite the EM's insistence that they turn the transport speed down they are still running them wide open, so their hypothesis is that rough ground plus the loose fitting spline hub might be causing the issue. We had the same problem with EZGO TXT's spinning hubs frequently.

We have 3 of the eclipse 322's great machine when everything is running smooth, a few problems with the lift actuators, pto switch, replaced 3 reel motors and gone through 5 hubs over three years. Parts do cost quite a bit however our vendor keeps plenty of the needed parts in stock and the mower seems great overall. Our vendor never told us about the hub warranty but did cover several other things on their end. Our course is right on the ocean with heavy rains and salty conditions not causing problems yet. Use is on greens and tees with bi-directional groomer and verticut reels working great too.

We did have an oil leak one time across 3-4 greens, operator (dipstick) error!

    Ron:

Having seem first hand the improvements from 1st generation to what is made today I am sure you will be happy with this machine. The flexibility to adjust clip frequency based on the needs leaves the competitors behind.. Make sure the sales person goes through the settings with the computer to explain o you what is possible and how to set the pass word so that you have complete control.
