We have 4 Toro 3100 greensmowers, and 2 of them are older and do not have this part but 2 do. The part in question is a; Sensor-Ferrous Proximity, Nc part no. 104-2057. My question is, what does it do? The wire was broken on one of them so I thought I fixed it, but I can start the mower but as soon as I put it in gear, it quits running. Went through the interlock switches and they all tested good. Tried the other mower that has this switch and will stall when disconnected and put in gear so I think this is the problem. I can retry to fix the wire but am still curious what this switch does. Thanks.

I could am only able to look at a 3150. Could be a parking brake sensor. The time I had similar problems it was the Diode curcit board. Pull that out, comes out like a fuse and see if there is moisture and corrosion on it. I clean mine, but it only lasted about 5 mins in the shop working correctly the died. Ordered two from Toro one in the machine and one on the shelf and problem solved. Hope this helps.
