I knew that if I went into this career I would have to play golf as part of my job. This seemed very cool until I was hit by a truck in January of 1982. I had a litany of injuries that affect me still today. I played golf from 1982 until 2001 because my bosses wanted me to, but it was very painful. Well, when I started my present job they said I did not have to play golf. So I didn't. We close my course on Christmas Day. When I said this to my younger daughter who was visiting, she wanted to go play. I immediately realized it was one of those lifelong memory things I had to do. I felt good. I hit the ball well. Of course the greens had not been mown, but they were faster than I remember greens being. That was two days ago. My past injuries are fine. My formerly unused muscles are so sore I cannot move. I think I may be ready to start playing again. :)

    Scott,

Go for the Gusto, I love the game its what got me into it in the first place! Back in the day my golf coach Fred Funk made it clear Gregg you are good but not that good! Year later he was on tour our #1 was his caddie! I became a Assistant Super at a local course as the man in charge told me I had all the knowledge, just needed experience. A few years later was doing grow in on a brand new golf course and still playing single digit handicap golf! Just have fun and enjoy life! Oh Fear the Turtle, Lets go TERPS!!!! U of Maryland Proud!

Scott, enjoy every swing you take. My back is also a mess but not due to an accident. My biggest challenge of the year is getting through the GCSAA Four Ball and Golf Classic. I play 18 holes at our chapter meetings but generally have become a 9 hole golfer. I treat every round as if it may be my last. I can't fool 6 screwed up disks forever. I pay for it every time I play but will not quit until my back makes that decision for me. Enjoy and have fun! The pain is worth it.
