    Has anyone paid much attention to this? I guess the FCC wants to get involved in policing content in newsrooms. That is called Tyranny! We already have slipped in a world poll when rated for freedom of the press. Who says our liberties aren't under attack daily. This should make you very suspicious of the Obama administration. They are already using the IRS, the EPA and other government agencies to circumvent the congress. If this was as clearly going on under a republican administration, screams for impeachment would be everywhere. Why are only Fox News, Drudge and Talk radio covering this? Is the left leaning press willing to cover for Obama on this like they do on nearly everything else?

    Sandy see the bold area above and maybe that answers your question....it's because that is what their viewers want to hear?

    I did come across this article from October 2013, which is about consolidations because the FCC isn't really doing anything about it and these groups have found loop holes. It talks about new corps. more interested in profit over local new sources. It mentioned the access and money spent by PACS after the Citizens United verdict. If anyone has benefited from that it has been the right and the republicans.

    Here is the link: http://www.freepress.net/sites/default/ ... 2013_0.pdf

    Would be interested to see your links and scources Sandy. The other top searches under google were Fox news stories.

    There is the Wall Street Journal opinion piece that talks about what you have discussed, but taking the opinion out of it, it seems to report that questioning is voluntary. I can see where there could be some concern, actually I kind of question the need, but it would be nice to find newsrooms that cover both sides of the issues. And more navigatable sites for us to do our own research. But I do remind myself that isn't the WSJ now owned by Ruppurt Murdoch? here is that link: http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB1 ... 3828260732

    Mel, if you do not believe this is an attack on free press, I have a bridge to sell you. This maybe called a study but if you think it is not a deliberate intrusion with the goal of controlling news content, then you simply have way to much trust in government. What if this began under Nixon or either of the Bush presidencies? Governments job is to control and that is why we need to be vigilant at all times and not allow them to step beyond boundaries. Don't think for a fraction of a second that this is just Fox and Talk Radio talking nonsense. They are fortunately just sounding the alarm. The so called voluntary participation in this is as phony as you can get. What happens if you choose to not participate? Don't think it will work very well! Clyburn's daughter will be involved with this. Gee, he sure isn't a partisan guy? I am sure she isn't either. This is how we lose our liberties!

    I love how this isn't news no matter how much right-wing fundies want it to be, and that that tells them nothing except that the entire world is against them (in their minds).

    Everyone's crazy or crooked but them.
    I used to have an employee like that. I don't anymore.

    I'm still sore at them about the whole narrowband thing. Anybody want to buy some wideband R-Net radios?

    Apparently it's news enough to get the government to react. Probably a good thing the "righty" news agencies piped-up about it, eh? Wonder what would have happened if the "righties" had stayed quiet on this non-issue?

    Greetings;

    Right, Left, Middle or what have you - The FCC has abandoned the attempt to infiltrate the news rooms as Fox News and others. The 1st. or 2nd. amendment has survived the first round.

    Have to say it but never thought I would - Mr. Jimmy Carter you may now relax, President Obama is making you look like a saint. And, President Bush, you ain't looking too bad yourself! I just hope we can survive the next three years with President Obama in the White House.

    How about this - It is God's Will Obamacare and all you people out there are doing God's Will. Let's see now, I thoght I read somewhere that there is Seperation of Church and State. Oh, I forgot, he is Obama and he can do and say as he wishes...!!!

    You would think people would be talking about such a thing. Yet they aren't.
    Everyone must hate the truth. What jerks.
