Any supers who care to share a vague rendition of their employment contract (or provide a link to prior discussion on the topic)? Not concerned with salaries at all....more importantly, the guarantees (at least supposedly) that you have worked into your contract. I am hoping to survive a course going thru Chapter 11 and would prefer to come out the other side with more contractual stability than I've had during my career.
We all work too hard in this profession to end up hosed at the end.....

    Thanks for all responses...

I will send you what I have tomorrow. I did not ask for a contract, but I got one anyway. In my case it just makes it a little easier for them to get rid of me. If the relationship were to turn sour that would not be a problem for them anyway. I would take the initiative. I think there is an example contract on this website.

Most are paper and worth about as much.

Unless it has a section with a guaranteed payout specified it is worthless..............Been there done that!!

I have one and the only part of the contract that has any real value is the separation clause. Without that, don't bother.

For those with contracts, what is the customary separation amount? I have one (1) week salary for each year worked. Now that I think about it, it is better than nothing but not by much.

On another note, it would be nice if the GCSAA could allocate resources to look over member's contracts for positives/negatives, make suggestions for same, and give the dismissed GCSAA member legal advice. I realize this would take a licensed attorney to perform such duties, but with what we pay for dues, to have someone on retainer for such duties wouldn't take that much out of the overall GCSAA pie. Just a thought.

If you go international, DO SO ! I had a "Civil Unrest" clause that helped me greatly. Their were 68 tourist's murdered 2 miles from the course I worked at in Egypt. It benefited me far more than them. I gotta the hell out of there and with good severance.
