I just wanted to say, I think the new Thank Your Superintendent" campaign was a great idea.

Congrats and Thanks to GCSAA for coming up with it. Watched it with pride on the Golf Channel the other night.

And as many of my twitter friends know, I've retweeted and shared it on Facebook as much as possible. The good part of that, especially Facebook, and somewhat with Twitter, is not all of my friends and followers are in this great profession, and the likes and occasional reponsed back shows the positive power of social media. (I have done that with the "This is my Office" video as well, Thanks Georgia Superintendents for that one)

Reminds me of story. I was back in Lawrence for a committee meeting in 1995 and during a break I went to the GCSAA bookstore and saw a tee shirt I just had to buy for my then five year old son.

It was a white tee shirt with green and yellow lettering and had a golf green with a flagstick in the green. The wording across the top, above the green, was "Love Golf?" Across the bottom of the green was "Thank a Golf Course Superintendent."

So my son was wearing the shirt one day when we went to visit my parents. My mom greets us at the front door, stops my son so she could read his shirt, and says "That's right Michael. Your dad's a Golf Course Superintendent, isn't he."

Without hesitating a second, Michael replies "nuh uh Grandma. My dad's a Golf Course Super Nintendo."

One of the funniest things I ever heard come out of a kid's mouth.

Great Story! And now he's grown up to be a Dentendo

Funny. Different son. The dentendo is doing great. The younger son and subject (or is it object?) of the story is still figuring out what he wants to be.

    Both probably still playing Nintendo.
