I had a problem with goose and crag grass on greens last year. Any suggestions for a preemerge. I was told 4 apps of bensemec at 4 oz per acre throughout the year. Had anyone used dimension?

    Virgil,

A lot of us (I believe) in SW MO use Dimension in a fertilizer carrier. I personally use Andersons 0-0-20 w/.164% (it's label name is Turf Fertilizer 0-0-20 with Dithiopyr Herbicide). I will do 2 split applications about 4 weeks apart.

Many others us an Andersons product they get from a local vendor which is a 10-3-10 product with .103% dithiopyr and will do 3 split applications at 2 week intervals.

I have used the 0-0-20 for the past at least 2 seasons with great results. Plan on doing it again this year.

    Virgil:

Last year I sprayed 2.5 5 oz. pouches of dimension per acre on my penncross greens twice. My first being in early April and my second was in early June. Water in 8 min. right after application. With all of rain we had last year, I was clean until early August. This year I plan to make my first app. the same as last year and take my second app. and split it in half making 3 total apps. I plan to try and time my 3rd app. at the end of June. This should keep my ai. amounts up going into August. We are in western ky where it gets really hot. The key to dimension on greens is to water lightly immediately after app. I saw a super at a local course who sprayed his greens with dimension and waited to water that night. He had bronze grass all summer. Never killed them, just made them look funny from a distance. Hope this helps.
