GM 3100 detent spring Cancel The title field is required!

   Even with all pedal control removed just operating lever by hand can not get units to stay engaged. Just put hydro pump back in after checking all seals and internal parts. Book mentions detent spring adjustments about to be messing with that but never did it before, took it all apart and regreased and cleaned it up put back together also.    detent will wear over time and need replaced. can adjust detent for more spring pressure but that
   only helps if its slightly worn. I always just buy a new detent complete because compressing the spring and
   keeping the balls in place while installing can be tough.

   The out spud (3:10) will get grooves worn in it and the thrust plate (3:5), ball race (3:7) and detent balls (3:6) get pitted causing it to not hold. You will need to replace detent assy.
