Robinson joined the GCSAA staff following six years as executive director of the Iowa Turfgrass Institute. From 2006 to 2015, he was the golf course superintendent at Ballard Golf and Country Club in Huxley, Iowa. He resides in Huxley.

On November 9, 2022, The Mississippi Valley GCSA held its annual meeting at Norman K. Probstein Community Golf Course. Chad Carpenter was the host superintendent. This meeting has been held at this location for many years now.
What do I mean by "old school?" I mean coat and tie are required to attend this annual event. The event started with a pre-meeting social to "meet the candidates." This gives the membership the opportunity to ask any pressing questions of the candidates for the board. MVGCSA President Rob Kick welcomed everyone to the dinner/meeting. This year's meal was a delicious fillet and salmon plate.
Up for election this year were three two-year term director seats. There was also a dues increase proposed by the board of directors. Congratulations to the following elected board members.
This was a classic meeting and ran flawlessly by Chapter Executive Chuck Gast and the MVGCSA board. Thank you for the opportunity to attend and speak to your great association.
