Charting the Future: Caribbean GCSA Sets Course for Growth Ahead of 2026 Board Elections

Mar 6, 2026

The Caribbean Golf Course Superintendents Association (Caribbean GCSA) is entering a pivotal moment, one defined by renewed engagement, strategic clarity and a shared commitment to elevating the profession across the region. That momentum was unmistakable during our well‑attended meeting at the 2026 Conference and Trade Show in Orlando, where members from across the Caribbean came together with a unified purpose: to strengthen the association and prepare for the next chapter of leadership.

The Orlando gathering marked one of the most energized and collaborative sessions in recent years. Members discussed the evolving needs of golf course professionals throughout the Caribbean, the importance of regional representation, and the opportunities ahead as the industry continues to grow and modernize.

Several key outcomes emerged from the meeting:

  • With strong participation and thoughtful discussion, members set the wheels in motion for the upcoming election of board members, scheduled for Friday, April 24, 2026. This election represents an important opportunity to bring fresh perspectives, strengthen governance and ensure the association continues to reflect the diverse voices of its membership.
  • Members agreed that the time is right to formalize a long‑term vision for the Caribbean GCSA. A strategic planning session will follow the election, designed to define priorities, enhance member value and position the association for sustainable growth. Topics will include education, certification pathways, regional collaboration, advocacy and expanding professional development opportunities.
  • The meeting underscored the strength of bringing superintendents together from across islands and territories. The shared challenges and shared successes highlighted the importance of a strong, connected association that supports its members year‑round.

The upcoming board election is more than a procedural milestone; it is a defining moment for the future of the Caribbean GCSA. Members will have the opportunity to select leaders who embody the association’s values and are ready to guide its next phase of growth. Whether through expanded educational programming, stronger industry partnerships or increased visibility across the Caribbean, the next board will play a central role in shaping what comes next.

As we move toward April and beyond, the Caribbean GCSA stands on solid footing—supported by engaged members, energized by new ideas and committed to advancing the profession. The work that began in Orlando is only the beginning. With continued collaboration and strong leadership, the association is poised to make meaningful strides that benefit superintendents, facilities and the broader golf industry throughout the region.
