Lawrence, Kan. (Jan. 6, 2026) – The Tennessee Golf Course Superintendents Association has generously donated $5,000 to the GCSAA Foundation, the philanthropic organization of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA), to support the new Col. John Morley Centennial Campaign.
GCSAA will turn 100 on Sept. 13, 2026, and it has embarked on a Centennial fundraising campaign to establish a new endowment honoring GCSAA’s founder, Col. John Morley, with a goal of raising $1 million to fund new and innovative initiatives for the next 100 years.

The Tennessee GCSA is supporting the Centennial Campaign at the Chapter Legacy Leader Level, which recognizes donations of $5,000 or more. With this donation, the Tennessee GCSA establishes its membership in the Foundation’s Platinum Tee Club, which recognizes organizations that donate $5,000 or more annually to the GCSAA Foundation.
“Many thanks to the Tennessee GCSA for their generous donation to the Centennial Campaign. Support from GCSAA-affiliated chapters for the Centennial Campaign helps us to ensure a successful future for the profession and for the game,” said GCSAA CEO Rhett Evans.
The Tennessee is one of the 94 GCSAA-affiliated chapters in North America. Founded in 1978, it is committed to providing for and enhancing the recognition of the golf course superintendent as professionals, and to collecting and disseminating information on a statewide basis to assist its members in providing for better maintenance and construction of Tennessee’s golf facilities.
“The Tennessee Golf Course Superintendents Association is honored to support the GCSAA Foundation’s Col. John Morley Centennial Campaign. As GCSAA approaches its 100th anniversary, this moment invites us to reflect on a proud legacy while boldly investing in the future of our profession,” said Melissa Martin, executive director. “By supporting this campaign, we are helping ensure that innovation, education, and leadership remain strong for the next generation of golf course superintendents and for the continued stewardship of the game.”
