Gift will help fund innovative initiatives over the next century
Lawrence, Kan. (May 5, 2026) – Syngenta has generously donated $30,000 to the GCSAA Foundation, the philanthropic organization of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA), to support the new Col. John Morley Centennial Campaign.
GCSAA will turn 100 on Sept. 13, 2026, and it has embarked on a Centennial fundraising campaign to establish a new endowment honoring GCSAA’s founder, Col. John Morley, with a goal of raising $1 million to fund new and innovative initiatives for the next 100 years.
Syngenta is supporting the Centennial Campaign at the Legacy Leader Level, which recognizes donations of $30,000 or more. Syngenta is a member of the GCSAA Foundation Platinum Tee Club, which recognizes organizations that donate $5,000 or more annually. Syngenta is also recognized at the Victory Club level in the Foundation’s Cumulative Giving Program for donors that have contributed more than $1 million since 1987.
“Syngenta has been a longtime supporter of GCSAA programs that honor our members and champions their professional development,” GCSAA CEO Rhett Evans said. “So, it’s no surprise that their generosity now extends to helping shape the next 100 years of the industry. We are grateful for their contribution to the Centennial Campaign.”
Syngenta, a provider of agricultural science and technology, is committed to partnering with golf course superintendents and providing innovative agronomic solutions that can lead to unrivaled turf quality.
“This investment in the Col. John Morley Centennial Campaign reflects our unwavering commitment to the future of golf course management. By supporting the GCSAA Foundation, we’re honoring Col. Morley’s vision that ‘no life is, or can be, self-existent.’ Together, we’re cultivating the next generation of industry leaders who will drive sustainable practices and innovation in turf management,” said Stephanie Schwenke, Turf Market Manager at Syngenta.
