Gift will help fund innovative initiatives over the next century
Lawrence, Kan. (May 19, 2026) – The Metropolitan Golf Course Superintendents Association (MetGCSA) has generously donated $5,000 to the GCSAA Foundation, the philanthropic organization of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) to support the Col. John Morley Centennial Campaign.
GCSAA will turn 100 on Sept. 13, 2026, and it has embarked on a Centennial fundraising campaign to establish a new endowment honoring GCSAA’s founder, Col. John Morley, with a goal of raising $1 million to fund new and innovative initiatives for the next 100 years.
Met GCSA is supporting the Centennial Campaign at the Chapter Legacy Leader Level, which recognizes donations of $5,000 or more. With this donation, MetGCSA is a new member of the Foundation’s Platinum Tee Club, which recognizes organizations that donate $5,000 or more annually to the GCSAA Foundation. The MetGCSA is also recognized at the Statesmans Club Level in the Foundation’s Cumulative Giving Program, which recognizes donors that have contributed between $10,000 and $24,999 since 1987.
“The MetGCSA has a long history of supporting the future of the industry and the game,” said GCSAA CEO Rhett Evans. “We are thankful to the MetGCSA for their gift to the Centennial Campaign.”
Metropolitan GCSA is one of the 94 GCSAA-affiliated chapters in North America. Founded in 1959, it is committed to the science and art of golf course management for the welfare of the game of golf.
“As GCSAA celebrates its centennial, it’s important to recognize the legacy that has shaped our profession and to invest in the future that will guide it,” said Mike McCall, executive director of the Metropolitan GCSA. “The MetGCSA is proud to support the Col. John Morley Centennial Campaign and the continued advancement of golf course management for generations to come.”
