The Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) has awarded Chapter Advancement Grants to four chapters in 2026, marking the second year of the program. The Chapter Advancement Grant Program supports new or significantly expanded initiatives launched by GCSAA chapters during the calendar year.
Selected from 19 qualified applications, the following chapters received grants for innovative projects that advance member engagement, education and industry awareness:
- The Mississippi Valley GCSA received a $3,000 grant to launch a new Turfgrass Stewardship and Youth Education Initiative. Funding will support field improvements, educational materials and program coordination. The initiative aims to build a strong foundation for youth engagement while introducing students to careers in turfgrass management and the golf course superintendent profession.
- The Kentuckiana GCSA received a $3,000 grant to develop an Assistant Superintendent Education Scholarship Program. The program is designed to provide meaningful educational and professional development opportunities for members, supporting workforce development and retention while expanding access to continuing education.
- The Rio Grande GCSA received a $3,000 grant to develop an Equipment Management Symposium. This first-time event will offer a unique educational experience for equipment managers and provide attendees with valuable hands-on learning opportunities.
- The GCSA of New York received a $1,000 grant to launch a Turfgrass Field Day Program. The event brings together professionals, students, and industry representatives to view research trials, hear from industry experts and network with peers. Attendees gain exposure to the latest developments in turfgrass science, management practices, and products.
Applications were reviewed by the GCSAA Chapter Outreach Task Group and evaluated based on six criteria: project clarity, alignment with strategic goals, member and community impact, budget and financial need, implementation plan, and measurable outcomes.
The Chapter Advancement Grant Program is expected to continue in 2027, with applications accepted from April 1–30.
