Working for You: Free webinars for members

Access free competency-based webinars with your GCSAA membership

With your GCSAA membership, you can access a library of nearly 300 free webinars to help you further your education. From live webinars to on-demand recordings, the Learning Hub has educational resources tailored to fit the needs and schedules of everyone on your team.

GCSAA webinars are a free member benefit, sponsored by Syngenta, and they are designed to help you gain the knowledge needed to grow in your career and expand your horizons.

All GCSAA education is member-driven. The foundation of GCSAA education is a set of competencies developed by GCSAA members. Competencies are simply the knowledge, skills and abilities superintendents and industry professionals need to be successful in your roles. These competencies help ensure that GCSAA education remains relevant, practical and aligned with the needs of members.

In addition, the GCSAA Member Needs Survey gives members an opportunity to share the education topics that are most important to you. Feedback from the survey drives webinar content and helps identify emerging issues. Recommendations from the annual Conference and Trade Show proposals also help shape webinar offerings, ensuring that educational programming reflects the latest industry research, and challenges and opportunities members are experiencing in the field today.

As quickly as the industry changes and technology advances, GCSAA’s webinars are essential in ensuring members can stay up to date with today’s ever-evolving trends.

What started as an initial webcast with more than 40 superintendents back in 2002 has grown to an online education program that had more than 28,100 views in 2025. In 2004, the overall program commenced with participants earning education points by attending webinars. Those education points, along with formal education and years of professional experience, go toward members’ eligibility to achieve GCSAA Class A standing, and their renewal requirements for CGCS or CTEM.

“One of the best things about the GCSAA webinar program is how it connects members directly with experts and peers who understand the challenges they face every day," said Kelli Norwood, director, learning and career development. “And for more than 20 years, Lisa Wick has helped build and grow GCSAA’s online education offerings, working with countless presenters to bring timely, relevant content to members. GCSAA’s extensive on-demand library allows members to access valuable education whenever and wherever they need it, as a free member benefit.”

Instructors range from experienced members, many of whom have achieved CGCS or CTEM status, to university educators with applicable PhDs. and other industry experts. Webinars can be viewed at the office or on-the-go, making them more accessible and convenient for members to work into busy schedules. Some webinars are also presented in Spanish, providing a more inclusive educational experience for many GCSAA members.

Since 2021, participation in GCSAA’s live and on-demand webinars has almost doubled, demonstrating what a valuable resource the online education program is for members. GCSAA’s online education program will reach its 25-year milestone in the spring of 2027.
