Thank a Golf Course Superintendent Day delivered some staggering numbers in 2026.

The global day on Sept. 8, which encourages golfers and others to recognize superintendents for their hard work and dedication to the game, was a coordinated effort between GCSAA, the British and International Golf Greenkeepers Association (BIGGA), the Australian Sports Turf Managers Association (ASTMA), the Canadian Golf Superintendents Association (CGSA) and the Federation of European Golf Greenkeepers Associations (FEGGA). Albaugh is a proud supporter of Thank a Golf Course Superintendent Day.

Golfers are encouraged to share their thanks on social media throughout the month of September using #ThankASuper or #ThankAGreenkeeper, depending on the terminology used in their country. GCSAA also introduced a new website, thankasuper.org, where golfers and others can leave personal messages for superintendents and their teams.

Nearly 400 messages have been left on the site so far, and it will remain available throughout the month. Check back regularly at thankasuper.org to see if a message is waiting for you or to leave a message for your peers.

On social media, the campaign saw significant growth over 2025. The combined reach across multiple social media platforms was 39.7 million, nearly double the reach of 2025.

Beyond social media, the campaign included content on The Fried Egg and We Need a Fourth. On Sept. 8, GCSAA CEO Rhett Evans appeared on Golf Channel to discuss Thank a Golf Course Superintendent Day and the important role superintendents play in keeping the game on course.
