I see the average income posted on this site for a superintendent, but not for assistant superintendent. Can you give me a "ballpark" base salary that I might expect to start out at as an assistant?
    Thanks for your response,

There IS no ballpark. Every job offer is different. Okay, fine......$1 to $75,000.

Which jobs are not posting assistant superintendent salaries?

Judging by the fact that we have so many superintendents who are so sensitive about raising taxes on incomes over $1 million, I am guessing your high end is a little low.

I didn't want to get his hopes up.

Asst, Supt. jobs just outside Iran's secret nuclear facilities are starting at $3 million, including conversion to Islam. Mandatory.

I could recommend you if you wanted to try out a "new" God.

All you have to do is click on the salaries by state and it lists both superintendents and assistants salaries.

gdb1234567 take a look at the listings again. I just looked at the first 2 pages on the job board and there are 5 assistant listings. ALL of them list a salary range.

gdb1234567 isn't a name. Care to tell us your name and where you're from?

    Dear GD,

Can I call you GD? Or do you prefer 1234567? Or possibly Mr. B?

We all know Mr. Wallace is inferior but he happens to be right. Although, that [u">will not[/u"> help him get into this very distinguished society. However, we are considering a special exemption for him if he goes on one of those weird Japanese game shows where women kick the contestants in the jumblies. But I digress. Your question is verrrry general. It's comparable to asking, what's the weather like in the world today. Or asking how much a car costs. Do you see where I'm going here? You need to expand the question to specifics such as location, private/public/muni, budget of facility, your personal experience, and on and on.

So GD, the moral of the story is that it would be fun to see Wallace go on one of those weird Japanese game shows.

WHAT? I was joking.....you all really think I'm inferior? After all these days of knowing me?

GOD...I can't take these judgmental accusations. Geez....maybe 123456789 was right. I think....no, I know.....I might possibly hate myself in the future. Unless I win the lottery. Then I'll love myself. And all you money-grabbing people will as well.

And STOP calling me Mr. Wallace.

You're right. Calling you Mr. Wallace is very insecure of me. It's "wallacej who needs bread and milk" from now on.

Word of advice. If you're trying to get an assistant's job, it's best not to throw insults at your peers. Some get really touchy, especially when you start talking about killing innocent deer.

And for what it's worth, you said the assistant job postings don't list salaries? But the first 4 I just flipped through all listed salary ranges right at the top. :?:

I think when I listed the pay of my 2 assistants it destroyed the curve and they didn't want to publish it!

Way to be inclusive of new people posting on here. And gbd insulting your potential employer certainly is bad form as well. But realizing your mistake and having been jumped on by the gentlemen who for some reason think they own these forums was just as bad form. We all pay dues and have rights on here, this whole thread is embarrassing. Sad on both sides really

    Sean,

I agree Andrew made a good point, but tell me this......how are we supposed to know who is new on this forum if they don't post their name? Should we assume "everyone" is new, just because they use their username only? I have NO idea who "ITortureKittens" is. Okay....I made that username up, but you get the point. Yes....GCSAA needs to FIX this problem, but until then......???????? Sure....we know who most of the people are just by their usernames, but there are others we do not. "Hoolehan" would be confusing, if I didn't know you.

And WHOEVER "gdb1234567" is, and especially if he IS new, he needs to learn some manners. I was being kind. I could have REALLY ripped into him, but did I? No. But if he is new, he's getting off to a really bad start on this forum.

Next time...."GDB"......if you want to try being "cute", and think it's fun to maybe "poke a hornets nest", you're going to get stung. Read my first response to you. Unreasonable? I think not. You're either very young, or very stupid, or both, to have responded like you did. You got off easy...

I hope GDB will continue to use the forums as well. I guess it should have been pointed out to him pointblank that you must necessarily have a thick skin in this business. We have all made mistakes and been ground upon before.

If the first requirement for you to look at an assistant's job is the pay, than you are in the wrong business. The position itself should interest you enough to apply. You can ask about the pay in the interview.

I really hate when the first question out of someone's mouth is "what's the pay?". Are you even interested in working here, or just here for the money.
