I suppose the Good Libyans could drive across 700 miles of uncharted sand to buy American flags in Cairo. Better yet, they could just get UPS to develop a profitable ground route between the two. Is using the word Profitable, an insult to Islam?

So are you, yet again, blaming Bush or suggesting the nut bags in the middle east are justified in the current attacks? Or maybe a bit of both?

I think the suggestion is that we shouldn't have gone in to Iraq in the first place... has it really done us that much?

What ever happened to "walk softly and carry a big stick"?

Is that the same Ron Reagan (the son), noted liberal, who spoke at the DNC four years ago, maybe eight?

In watching the Sunday morning news cast of the networks I tend to agree with Sen McCain.......not to many of your average protesters show up with automatic weapons, RPG's and other such weaponry without some pre planning. Guess it never dawned on the administration that it was the anniversary of 9/11 and as Joe Biden so apply put it at the DNC.......OSAMA is DEAD and GM is ALIVE............whats that called spiking the ball in the face of your opponents......unsportsmanlike conduct...........would make a great bumper sticker in Egypt, Libya, Yemen, Syria, Iran.............but I'm sure it's Bush's fault somehow.

Ronald Reagan would not be chosen by the Republicans of our day to be a candidate. He understood that government consumption was important to right a damaged economy. A moderate like Jeb Bush would never stand a chance without the Tea Party and Koch money either.

Yep, GM is alive. That is Bush's fault. But you'll never hear that from the current administration.

I don't know how you guys can walk around with that much fear in your minds. It must suck.

Ethnocentrism and bigotry has as much to do with this as a fruit bowl. The old racist playbook has no relevance. I suppose pessimism is logical due to the reality of the middle east. History has proven, many times over, that the middle east is flash pan. Hiding behind a swell sign about American support in Libya does not remove the reality of instability and oppressive control of the entire area.

That whistling sound going by, Clay (and Pete)...

I can withstand being labeled a bigot by a friend and have him still be my friend. That's how tolerant I am.

I haven't turned the computer on since then, Clay. So, no. Just continuing the conversation since I was last online. Online life ceases when the computer is shut off. Sorry you got ruffled.

No ruffling. Thats the problem with the keyboard, does not allow discernment of emotion or lack of.

This is true of this type of communitcation as the receiving party never knows the intent of the sender. If you don't truly know the individual and his or her personality people often get their feelings hurt. But remember kids we are NOT part of the X or Y or Z generation or whatever letter we are on now. We grew up when winning mattered, if your feelings good hurt tough crapola and everyone did not get an A for effort. Like Steve when I turn the computer off its off until I come back to harass someone again.......some in particular, ha ha. But no ill will meant. Some of us are conservatives and right and some of you are liberals and wrong.......we understand.

Agreed, DMC. We all understand each other, if not like each other. Most of us have met irl and we wouldn't be sitting here giving each other crap unless we cared about each other, just a little. I respect Pete and Clay and you a great deal, but only because we've met and I can tell you're not all that big, bad, and right-wing.

He's my bigger friend. Pete likes me more. Put the gun down. It's not worth it. It's just reality. Hey, the fact that you're his #2 best friend should make you feel pretty darn good.
