Just out of curiosity, do you have an example of the left hoping for more suffering?

I'll help with a left example.

    Re: Chris Matthews

From Yahoo News: "On Tuesday while assessing Obama's victory, Matthews said he was "glad" Sandy happened because it showed undecided voters the president could come together with Republican leaders, including New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, to help the superstorm's victims."

Just goes to show that there are as many left nuts as right nuts. You know what that leaves.

Agreed...wonder how anyone can continue to defend this guy...He is just as bad as Limbaugh if you ask me. Enough shame to go around on both ends of the spectrum.

How about if we start right here and be the example by no personal attacks and foolish statements about either party hoping bad things happen! We should keep the conversation to strictly issues and job performance without questioning politicians personal motives. I personally dislike several well named politicians from both parties but I don't think any of them want bad things to happen to help their side. As far as the conservative message, I think we need to go back to the Constitution as our guide. It doesn't mention a word about birth control or abortion. Leave the emotional issues behind and focus on liberty and our freedoms and as the Constitution intended, limiting the federal government in its scope. We have state and local government to deal with issues not covered in the Constitution. Get back to limiting the federal governments power and let the states deal with what is relevant in their state. I also think the parties need to stop putting people in boxes. Conservatives would do much better recruiting Americans to join them and get rid of all these stupid hyphenated groups. That would quickly eliminate the senseless class warfare that the country has fallen into.

Sandy, will certainly try, but sometimes I think when I type something it might not seem like it's talking bad about the other party or certain person but others interpret as such. And yea I'm not going to stop bashing the nut jobs.

Keith, good example of one on the left, I was never a Matthews fan, or Sharpton, and the Ed show, Maddow is good in that at least she tries to back things up with information, although she can sometimes get one to think with too much emotion and I've been caught (Mich. emergency city managers issue and the Silverdome) with old news. The best on MSNBC are Chris Hayes and Melissa Harris Perry on weekends, and some of them on during the day during the week, but I only get to see them when I take a day off or am sick. And that's my opinion.

Speaking of TV, or the lack of it as it turns out, last night's Daily Show is a must see - for the right too.
C'mon, You know you want to! It won't kill you. It's funny.

Seriously, if you gentlemen that lean right or are tea party doodz, whatever -- if you are at all curious as to what left leaning independents and full-on libs, AND MARXISTS, are thinking and feeling the day after - - Daily hits it all in one show. It explains everything, backs it up, lays it down.

Plus, Nate Silver is on, writer of the 538 blog. The math guy who predicted all of it at risk to his reputation.

Steve is right, the best show is the "Daily Show" I watch it every night, wish it wasn't on so late, although it worked out good tonight, the Seminoles pulled that game out right in time to switch to Stewart.

For the first time in my life, Tuesday night I was ashamed to be American. The country has changed and I am not sure I fit anymore.

And by the way, I work for one of those "rich" guys, and unless our members come through and buy the club I will be an unemployed in Febuary. When his taxes go up, the lights go off.

Wow, that sucks Scott. Maybe you find work at a Trump course. He seams to have no problem building or buying clubs. He might even have one in Canada.

That's about as personal as it gets. Sorry to hear you may lose your job Scott. Lets hope your owner can find a way to keep the doors open.

This is an example of how the President affects the constituency to its core. The president's policies could close this course which has obvious ripple effects. How can anyone expect the employees of this course to have anything but contempt for the person/party in charge?

Sorry to hear that Scott, my question is as Clay states that policies could close your course, can you tell us which policy (or policies) is making your owner close his doors or want to close his doors? Is it just his taxes going up wanting him to close? Heck if the club is loosing money there shouldn't be any income taxes. It sounds like since he is a rich guy and can survive without revenue from his course, he just doesn't want to work at finding a solution to those issues, just my opinion not knowing all the facts and details. Maybe he might want to get a different tax attorney.

I think everyone who contributes to this bulletin board should go to Asia, except Mel and David. Mel is cool and David is way too old, even if he is in good shape. I don't need to go because I have a pension and can live off of the government.

I think you know yourself better than any of us and I don't think anyone would think you unreasonable for feeling what you do. I think a lot of people feel like they woke up to a different country on Wednesday, and they did.
I can tell you when Bush2 won a second term, my wife wanted to move out of the country, not because she was afraid of Bush, but because she didn't trust the kind of people that could vote him in again -- so basically, she didn't trust 'America'. Same stuff we're hearing today.

This isn't the first time (or last) in our history one side or the other felt like they were being led to the slaughter.
But we always seem to meet-up somewhere (though kicking and screaming) in the middle and figure it out.

This sucks. It's business though. I don't know anyone in my circle of Supt. friends who doesn't fear for their job over budget cuts, salary issues, or fickle memberships. This business is brutal for that. Good luck if he feels like he's not making enough profit from his investment.

    Scott,

The fact is the USA is a Republic, which was purposely chosen by the founding fathers because it is far less volatile than a pure democracy. In the United States the minority party still has its share of checks to protect the republic from sweeping ideology and demagoguery which all forms of government are prone to. In our 230+ years as a nation there have been times when ideology and demagogy have threatened to divide our country, and in fact once did. The government is not the source of my faith, ideals, and morals, so i do not expect the government to reflect them.

Tuesday night changed nothing in America we are exactly the same as we were on Monday night. In [u">good[/u"> elections there is always a winner and a loser. President Obama won fair and square and with a substantial majority. Emotions run high during close elections because it takes that to make it close. Mit Romney ran a good campaign, President Obama ran a better one, but we are still the same nation as we were last week.

I know what its like to live/work under the cloud of uncertainty. Our employment hinges on so many things and many are not in our control. Most of us will face this at some point in our employment and often more than once. Its hard to give advice on how to handle these situations other than work hard, keep your eyes and ears open, network and prepare. Golf is a great game but not a great business. Its a tough business for many reasons other than the Obama administration. The business of golf has always ebbed and flowed.

A couple of months ago I meet a young lady who was a singer song writer, she asked me what I did for a living, I told her I was a Golf Superintendent her reply was "wow that's like a dream job". I asked why she thought that, her reply was that she grew up playing golf with her dad and often saw the Superintendent on the course with his dog and though "boy what a life". I told her your right it is a dream job.

    Good post Sean,
As to the singer/songwriter, I thought at one time that would be a dream job (not singing, but playing music), I played in the prerequisite garage bands and the like, but also grew up on the golf course, I thought the dream job also was working in the pro shop like my dad, until I saw those big mowers. Your right this is a dream job.

The demagogues were real here. They existed and their prejudices and opinions were unacceptable.
Consider "Team Rape" -- These guys epitomized demagogy. They lived it.
In that respect, with a big issue like religion/rape, the country is different.
