Gift maintains chapter’s position as a Platinum Tee Club organization

Lawrence, Kan. (Aug. 22, 2023) The Palm Beach Golf Course Superintendents Association has generously donated $7,500 to the GCSAA Foundation, the philanthropic organization of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA). The gift will be designated as follows: $2,500 for First Green, $2,500 for unrestricted gifts and $2,500 for Rounds 4 Research in support of the Florida GCSA.

With this donation, the Palm Beach GCSA has moved up to the Governor’s Club giving level of the GCSAA Foundation’s Cumulative Giving Program. The Governor’s Club recognizes donors who have given between $50,000 and $99,999 since 1987.

The chapter also remains in the GCSAA Foundation’s Platinum Tee Club. The program recognizes organizations that give $5,000 annually to the GCSAA Foundation.

The chapter has set a goal of donating $50,000 to the industry this year to become the most philanthropic GCSAA chapter. So far, it has contributed $14,000 to the Marie Roberts Turf & Ornamental Scholarship Awards; $10,000 to the First Tee of the Palm Beaches; $5,000 to the Florida GCSA Research Fund; $7,500 to the Florida GCSA Lobbyist Initiative; $2,000 to Little Smiles of Palm Beach; and $1,728 for benevolence donation for Palm Beach GCSA members.

“The Palm Beach Chapter is fully dedicated to supporting local and national organizations that promote the game of golf, grow our industry, and protect the environment,” said Vice President Jason Bagwell.

The Palm Beach GCSA was founded in 1978 and is one of 95 GCSAA-affiliated chapters in North America.
