huff"][size=150">Commentator Josh Brown is a one-percenters. He's an investment adviser at Fusion Analytics in Manhattan. Here's his open letter to the banks that don't seem to get why people are mad.[/size">

I think this is a excellent example of the current divide in America, people are unhappy about the 2008 bailout, many believe it is Wall Streets/Bankers fault for mishandling the bail out money (the OW protesters), and many are mad at the government for giving it to the banks and Wall Street in the first place (Tea Party). Both sides are right.

I expect a pretty ugly election year in 2012, lots of mud slinging, promises that are too good to be true, protesting candidates rather than supporting them, and class warfare.

The mudslinging is a HUGE part of the problem. Once we decide that the other opinion is either Fascist or Communist, all dialog ceases to be meaningful.

The 2 party system is horribly broken and there doesn't seem to be an alternative.

    Regards,

    Steve

Re: mace video -- how to fail at winning hearts and minds. If the police choose to handle themselves this way, with as many cameras rolling as there are and for how quick video makes it to the net, they may want to rethink the brown-shirt tough-boy tactics.

I have been brutalized twice by police officers. Both times is was just wrong place, wrong time; I was cooperative offering no resistance. Both times I was mad about it and it took some time before I concluded that this is just the way cops have to be. We ask them to address the worst society has to offer, which they do.

PS: I am what police officers refer to as a "keeper" - a really big fish. I am 280# with a lean body weight of 240#. I guess many people think my appearance is scary.

So then, I suppose, "I guess that when there is not plenty, poverty is good?"

You can grow up anytime now, Scott. I see you've misquoted me accidentally on purpose a number of times, even in other threads.

You obviously changed my question mark to a period, changing everything in the original quote.

Have fun with it while you can, emabarrassed as you must be.

Steve watched your video twice to get it all.................a good piece without question. But I have my doubts if the OWS have not already been infected.

    Scott,

You have crossed the line on several occasions and this happens to be another black feather in your cap. It needs to be removed...when you get done admiring yourself in the mirror.

Okay, you asked the question. When in history has there not been "plenty" somewhere?

Okay, you asked the question. When in history has there not been "plenty" somewhere?

First, let me answer the question that I did not ask by making sure everyone knows that you puprposely changed the punctuation in my quote from a question mark to a period, and then used the new quote in your tagline in several other replies to topics.

See enerybody, notice how in Scott's tagline he now has something stupid from Sarah Palin and North Korea? Well, in several topics late yesterday, Scott intentionally changed my question regarding Bobby Kennedy's quote about plenty and poverty from "I guess that when there is not plenty, poverty is good?", to "I guess that when there is plenty, poverty is good.", and used it as his tagline. Big diffrenece between a question mark and a period, isn't there, Scott?

    I bet people have been sued over the years when they intentionally do something like that. {This portion of the message removed in conjunction with GCSAA's forum policies.}

See what you did, Scott? Now I forgot what the question is I'm supposed to answer.

When you change your signature it changes all of your posts automatically. I have changed it so it should have changed all posts. So, when is poverty good?

Poverty is never good. Kenedy's words, IMO, are pretty stupid. They beg the question.

Notice above how I used a period, and not a question mark. Poverty is never good.

In the San Diego protests, here are the things you are hearing.
    1. We want free college educations and all of our debts forgiven.
    2. Legalize all drugs.
    3. Open the borders.
    4. Overthrow the evil capitalist system.
    5. Minimum wage, $22 per hour.
    6. Take the money from those rich people and give it to us.
    7. Ban all fossil fuel.
    8. We want the government to take care of us.
    9. End the war.
    10. Clean up mother earth.
    11. Give us social justice.
    12. End police brutality.
    13. Equal rights for gay, lesbian and transgender people.
    14. I am just hear to hang out and party.

I heard a number of other pretty ridiculous comments that further show the lack of understanding of our country and basic economic principals. You have a number of unions, American communist party and other anarchy advocates fueling these protests. At some point they will turn violent. When you have no cohesive message, you simply have a mob.

As far as regulation versus competition, look at all the things that still go wrong when areas are heavily regulated, example, Wall St. and banks! With the competition model, if you harm people or make poor products, you will fail. Regulations have not stopped injuries and death to the point of zero. I have never said have no rules for society but you have to understand that you cannot regulate your way to a perfect world!

Sandy you left out # 15 for some reason. The Occupy Wallstreeters is what Cub Fans do in the off season.

Sean, most of the protestors I saw wouldn't know who the Cubs were and the few half sane ones knew that could never happen! Actually, I would like to see that someday. I hope the success of the Tigers and the Lions in Detroit will help that city rebound. Maybe the Cubbies can create the same excitement and help Chicago's economy!

Susan Sarandon joined the occupy movement and called the Pope a Nazi.

The Nazi and Communist parties endorsed and joined the occupy movement.

Does this mean the Pope is marching up-n-down Wall Street demanding that his tuition be forgiven?

This has turned out to be a very weird protest...

My younger son put himself through college by joining the Army Infantry and establishing a t-shirt website. I do not have any "punctuation" t-shirts, but I have a closet full of "My Dad's a Fag!" t-shirts if you want one.

Now that the unions are fully behind the OWS and both Obama and Pelosi and singing the praises of the protestors and along with the $300k raised, free meals being provided, storage facilities made available to them I think they are well beyoung infected........actually contagious to those that don;t have jobs, want their tution bills excused and hoping for a little free nooky and weed..........more fun than sititng home watching the OWN.
