Dave, at least that is after the fact. Just saw a clip from Stewart where all the Republicans were encouraging the tea partiers to go out and protest.

    Well said Scott,

Whenever I have had a challenge with crew morale, turf health or anything else in my career I have always told the boss it was my fault. When I was questioned about this I said, "Well, if it is not my fault then there is nothing I can do about it and I would rather think that I am in control." So, I think I understand taking personal responsibility and my four children (all grown now) certainly understand that their success in life is their responsibility. But once again though, this country is screwed up. If it is not my fault then there is nothing I can do about it. If raising taxes on the highest earners by 5% will solve the problem then do it. If this is viewed as class warfare and raising taxes on everyone by 5% will placate this view and solve the problem then do that. I do not care, let's all take responsibility and solve the problems.

Thank you for you comment Keith.

If this had been one of my kids I would have thrown her under the bus years ago. If someone is weak, they are not smart or they have some sort of issue, I will use my strength to assist them. If you are strong and just a jerk then prepare be left by the wayside. I understand that there are attorneys who can help the strong beat the system, but that is where we can make headway.

These people only serve to delegitimize the occupy protests. This is the difference between the Tea Party protests and the occupy protests. It's really a shame because the core message is a good one.

    Nice map, Scott.

WIth no state line boundaries drawn, it kind of looks like most, if not all, of the great state of Maine is the first state without full freedom of speech.

Probably gonna' start moving south and west from there.

Geeeeezzzz, all I did was click on QUOTE to get Scott's map in my reply, and other states are already losing the freedom of speech, too.

It is already moving west and south, as I had suspected.

It's time to move along. The original intent of the movement has been lost. The existing mob-like circus has highjacked, what I had hoped to be, a meaningful protest.

I drove by the one in Downtown Philly last week, and not thinking, turned to my wife and said
    "Oh, a farmer's market!"...then realized.

Realized what? That you couldn't tell the difference between a farmer's market....and an out of control riot of homeless people? See? That's the problem with you 1 percenters....you've lost sight of what dirty farmers look like.

I wonder what the back story is to this photo? Were these people just calmly sitting there and the cop walked up and sprayed them for the heck of it? Or were they taunting and spitting on the cop prompting him to spray them?
Of course there is a back story to all these photos. I'm sure there's plenty of reasonable explanation for the fires, the looting, the vandalism, the murders, the rapes, the defecating on police cars, the throwing of urine, vinegar, and paint on the cops, hitting the cops with rocks...all actions that would make JFK proud.

You obviously have access to the internet, so you could do some research before commenting. It is also obvious that you do not. This is the FIRST STORY RIGHT NOW on Google News.

Found the back story. Turns out the seated protesters were creating a road block in an effort to prevent the police from arresting other occupiers. The protesters in question were repeatedly told to leave but refused. The protesters were finally warned they would be sprayed with pepper spray if they continued to prevent the cops from doing their job. I see your link mentions very little of this Scott. Now this photo shows up as a propaganda piece. I suppose the thinking is that if you beat the propaganda drum long enough it will give credibility to the bogus message.

It would be so much quicker and easier if they just killed and buried everyone who is making less than $1 million per year. Then the job creators would have no dead weight in their way.

You are part of an interesting conundrum for the occupiers. The original intent and message of the occupy movement are very worthy. The protests started as peaceful and to gain attention to the ills of bad corporate and political policies. Along the way, the protests turned into violent hoodlum-lead riot-like events. This has created a very awkward position for those who started the protests and for those who supported (like me) the initial protest. There are those who don't want the initial message to get buried under the murders and rapes. Yet there are those who seem to think the murders and rapes are mere collateral damage. This leaves the credible protesters in the position of having to defend the indefensible actions of those who create a black-eye on the movement.

Yes, gas the murderers and rapists as they sit in the street holding their text books on the college campuses where they are enrolled as students. *shaking head*

It takes a special mindset to want to be a cop. Unfortunately, for the public, there's no way to select for "non-a..hole". It's not like it's a job requirement for them to be smart or sensitive to the bigger picture - in fact, the job kind of encourages you to leave that stuff at home, else you can get hurt. As a result, it's been my experience that you get a lot of hyper-macho d-bags who have a chip on their shoulder, or worse, insecure men who's only way to feel a sense of power in their lives is to act as law enforcement. Creepy.
