Field staff report

More to come in 2019

by Steve Randall | Dec 20, 2018

As 2018 winds down, it has been a pleasure to not only make key visits to members and chapters in the region, but to also work with our chapter outreach team across the country.

Part of those duties include participating in board orientation sessions, chapter executive events and strategic planning meetings.

2019 will be a key year as we continue working on important initiatives. Many states have completed, or are close to completing their BMPs. 50 states by the end of 2020 continues to be our focus and a major part of our department business plan. Facility adoption will be a priority in many areas. Workshops are being held to aide in the effort.

We will be striving to reach 19,000 members by the end of 2019. Why is membership growth so important? A growing membership shows a viable organization. Our team wants to work with your chapter to help accomplish important growth goals as well.

The First Green Program continues to be a focus.  This is an important initiative for our profession. Enabling students at a young age the chance to experience STEM education at your facility is key for us moving forward.

There continue to be challenges. Labor, water use, and the golf industry as a whole continue to affect your daily lives and ability to successfully accomplish your goals.

We are equipped to assist.

If you are a chapter leader, please consider conducting a board orientation and/or strategic planning session in the near future. We continue to hear success of chapters after outlining their goals and objectives following these meetings.

If your facility or chapter has not participated in Rounds4Research, consider doing so. The program has raised over $300,000 over the years to help with research and education.

Yes, there's a lot going on. The Golf Industry Show and GCSAA Golf Championships are right around the corner. Take advantage of these professional development opportunities!

But, more importantly, take time this holiday season to enjoy what you have accomplished. We have many great members working in this industry and thank you for your efforts as we move ahead to 2019.
