As spring has officially arrived, I wanted to step back and thank everyone for their hospitality and efforts during the first quarter of 2019.
The week of April 8 will be the first week of the new year that I will be fully in the office. No travel, no Chapter Leaders/Executives Symposium, but plenty of outreach!
We continue to gather rounds for our
Rounds 4 Research program. Please donate a round to the cause today. It's simple. We have the resources for you. Remember, your chapter receives 80 percent of the proceeds. It's a way to support a great cause...and the game that means so much to our careers!
The auction starts April 29 and goes through May 5. It's a simple as visiting
www.rounds4research.com.
Our team continues to facilitate strategic planning and board orientation sessions across the country. This past week, Ron Wright and I were with the Louisiana/Mississippi GCSA. Our outcomes were to increase engagement and participation, get assistants involved and to ensure the success of the chapter.
Not familiar with what the chapter is working on? Please visit their newly revamped Twitter page @LAMSGCSA.
April finds continued outreach in the Central Plains region and a meeting with the affiliation agreement task group.
I'm looking forward to attending the Iowa Golf Hall of Fame induction ceremony, where Rick Tegtmeier will be honored for his career efforts April 4. Des Moines Golf and Country Club was host to the Solheim Cup. His contributions to the game are extensive and congratulations!
In April, we have a First Green Field trip at Champions Run GC in Omaha. I had the privilege of attending the Nebraska GCSA Spring Meeting March 12. Attendees learned of the event and we are looking forward to it. Also, kudos to the chapter with over 60 attendees at the Spring Meeting. It was a record. A great day of education.
The Mo/Kan Wee One Event will be at Staley Farms April 24. If able, please support this event!
Also, I will be speaking with students at SE Tech in Sioux Falls on GCSAA and the importance of engagement. Kudos to advisor Cory Borgen. While attending the Sanford Invitational PGA Senior Tour Event last September in Sioux Falls, Cory and I worked together to get 30 students signed up and become members with GCSAA!
Yes, March was it's notably unpredictable self, but our service to members remains strong and the focal point of chapter outreach.
See you soon!
