Oh yes, that first 65 degree night! Fall is upon us and that means lots of travel throughout the Southeast. I just returned from a trip to Massachusetts for vacation and got to experience cooler weather and great seafood! Cooler temperatures mean superintendents can stop chasing their tails mowing
bermudagrass and work on other tasks.
I'll be at the
USGA Women's Mid-Am Championship in Charlotte and the Tour Championship at East Lake in Atlanta in September. There are several chapter events in September as well and I will be in all five of my chapters. It's always fun to travel the SE during college football season as well with plenty smack talk going on between rival SEC schools.
I'd like to give a big shout out to
Jeff Huber and the entire staff at Golf Club of Tennessee for their awesome hospitality while I was there for the
USGA Women's Amateur Championship last month. Everyone there was helpful and friendly and what an amazing golf course! Top notch all the way.
Calling all assistant superintendents: The
Nufarm Excel Leadership program is now open for application. It's an amazing 3-year program and I would highly
recommend checking it out.
See you soon,
Ron
