Cactus and Pine to distribute $25,000 in funds from FairWays Foundation

The Cactus and Pine GCSA is happy to announce that the chapter will be distributing $25,000 in funds from a recent grant it received from the FairWays Foundation.  The organization funds local and global projects that advance the conservation of our natural resources. The funds are available as a result of Aquatrols committing to transferring a percentage of sales to The FairWays Foundation.

Beginning April 1, Cactus and Pine will distribute ten (10) grants in the amount of $2,000 each and five (5) in the amount of $1,000 each to Arizona golf facilities located in Arizona Department of Water (ADWR) Active Managed Areas (AMA’s) to assist in the third-party verification of turfgrass acreage.  Priority will be given to courses who are planning a turfgrass reduction program. The verification will assist courses in meeting groundwater reductions under the 5^th Management Plan as well as any future water conservation mandates that may be enforced by ADWR. 

Applications will be accepted through December 15, 2022, and all third-party acreage verifications must be completed and submitted to the Arizona Department of Water Resources no later than December 31, 2022. 

Facilities are free to choose the third-party provider, but they must be approved by the Cactus & Pine GCSA.  We have provided two recommended vendors (Gary Brawley Golf Design and Marvin Mills Irrigation Consulting) and contact information is available on the application.
