Reclassification and reinstatement
Reclassification
You may request a change in classification when you change qualifications or you will be automatically be reclassified upon your annual renewal where you must clearly state any change to current employment status. Your reclassification will then be based on commonly accepted job titles.

Membership Classification Options
Class A member (A)
Class A members are golf course superintendents who have met and continue to fulfill Class A renewal requirements.
Annual dues: $465

Class B Golf Course Superintendent (B)
Class B members are golf course superintendents who do not meet the additional qualifications for Class A membership. Class B members are not eligible to serve on the GCSAA Board of Directors.

International Superintendent Member (ISM)
International Superintendent members are employed outside of the United States as a superintendent or head greenkeeper and belong to their international association. ISMs are not eligible to vote or serve on the GCSAA Board of Directors.

Assistant Golf Course Superintendent (Class C)
Class C members are assistant golf course superintendents. Class C members are not eligible to vote or serve on the GCSAA Board of Directors.

Life Member (Class AA)
Life members must have retired as a golf course superintendent or assistant golf course superintendent and have been a member of GCSAA for 25 years with a minimum of 20 years has been as a golf course superintendent. Life members are not eligible to serve on the GCSAA Board of Directors.

Class A-Retired
Class A-Retired members are not be currently employed as a golf course superintendent and have a minimum of five years as a GCSAA Class A member. The years of service a GCSAA member combined with the member's age must equal 75 years or more. Class A-Retired members members are not eligible to serve on the GCSAA Board of Directors.

Affiliate (AF)
Affiliate members are individuals, businesses or organizations related to golf course management or turfgrass that do not qualify for other membership classifications. Affiliate members are not eligible to vote or serve on the GCSAA Board of Directors.

Equipment Manager (EM)
Equipment Manager members are employed as an equipment manager, assistant equipment manager or mechanic/technician. EM members are not eligible to vote or serve on the GCSAA Board of Directors.

Associate member (AS)
Associate members are employed at a golf course and do not qualify for any other membership classification. Associate members are not eligible to vote or serve on the GCSAA Board of Directors.

Educator (Class E)
Educator members are educator or Extension officers. Educator members are not eligible to vote or serve on the GCSAA Board of Directors.

Inactive
Inactive members qualify for this classification due by unemployment, illness or other adverse circumstances and request this status and it must be approved by the Board.
Annual dues: $30

Student (S)
Student members are full-time turfgrass students intending to or currently enrolled in a formal education or have completed their education within the last year and have not become employed at a golf course. Student members are not eligible to vote or serve on the GCSAA Board of Directors.

Student memberships are compliments of 
Retired (RT)
Retired members one must be retired from the industry and no longer qualify for any other membership classification. They must be age 55 or older or have completed at least 20 years of GCSAA membership. Retired members are not eligible to serve on the GCSAA Board of Directors.
Annual dues: $75

Facility Membership
Facility membership is for facilities that have not had a GCSAA member in the last three years, and the facility’s green fee is below the 50 percent median in their region. Individuals at these facilities who will have access to GCSAA resources, but will not receive individual membership benefits and are not eligible to vote or serve on the GCSAA Board of Directors.
